Terrain: Hilly (2000' elevation gain) - One long, sustained hill and lots of rolling hills.

Distance: 40 Miles Approx

Approx. Time: 4 hours

Ride Description: Leave from Big Y Park n Ride. Backroads and highway to Peshastin then North Road to Chumstick and approx 3 to 4 miles on Chumstick before turning up Eagle Creek. Return Via Chumstick to Leavenworth up around ski hill loop then out Icecicle Rd to fish hatchery returning to North Road to get back to Park n Ride. We may make quick stop in Leavenworth for refill on water bottles.

We offer weekly rides on Saturdays that typically start at Wenatchee Valley Brewing Company, led by members of the Velo club. Because we are acting as ride leaders, we HAVE to insist that people sign the wavier, and become members! Completion of membership includes the applicable ride waiver.

Wenatchee Valley Velo supports a multitude of cycling programs and events in the local area. The annual dues from membership along with proceeds from cycling events assist us in promoting safe cycling in our area. Member appreciation events are held throughout the year and are free with your paid membership.

Monument Ride

Location/Start: 10885 Wending Ln, Leavenworth Meet Time: 8:30 AM Roll‑Out: No later than 9:00 AM (Start time may adjust based on forecasted temperatures.)

Distance: 50 miles

Elevation: 2,294 ft

Estimated Time: 3.5–4.5 hours + BBQ

Ride Leaders: Al and Ann

Ride Description:

This ride begins near Plain at Al and Ann’s place (10885 Wending Ln - Google Maps)

Support Stops:

Mile 24: Bathroom (outhouse), water, snacks, hand sanitizer

Mile 38.4: Additional water and snacks

Route: 50 Mile

Post Ride festivities:

Join us for a BBQ at Al and Ann’s place after the ride! We’ll provide hamburgers, all the fixings, salads, appetizers, and desserts.

Please bring:

A chair (if handy)
BYOB — water will be available, but bring any preferred beverages

***Two Velo board positions will be open next year. A general meeting will be held in December to vote on interested individuals.

A sign‑up sheet will be available, and members may also nominate someone they believe would be an excellent board member. Names will be collected through October.***
